Remember for this week

January 31st to February 4th

English I: Bring the dialogue we've been working on and pictures of different cities.

English II: Complete the writing exercise about what you and one of your friends do on the weekend.

English III: Bring the rules of spelling for gerunds.

English IV: Bring your own list of verbs in Simple Past, both regular an irregular. Also, don't forget your assignment on Google Docs.

English V: The writing exercise about your last holiday.

English V homework (section J512)

Write a paragraph about your last holiday. Use all the verbs in Simple Past. Be creative. Remember that commas and the periods are very important. Keep the sequence of the events. Follow this exercise (made in class) to help you out.




Complete the task before Friday, February 4th at noon.

Make and two-slide presentation with the phone conversation regarding physical description.
You select the situation, use pictures to help you and create the dialogue where each person describe someone different.

In the presentaion you must include the pictures you used. Remember to write your name and ID number in each slide.

It's a collaborative work in a common file. So, you must respect your classmate's work.

Create a short presentation about two or three of your favorite heroes. Use pictures and information written in Simple Past. Start with sentences with the verb TO BE. Maximum 3 slides per group.

English III: Bring photos of different people (portrait and/or full body) What is the correct pronunciation of “answering”? How did you find out?

English IV: Bring photos of historic people and information about them.

La postura afecta la autoestima




Todavía me parece escucharla: “¡Tú recto! ¡La cabeza alta! ¡Mirando siempre a la punta de la Torre de La Equitativa*!”. Para mi abuela era muy importante la postura; según ella, influía mucho en cómo los otros te veían y en cómo te veías tú mismo. Ahora un estudio publicado en Psychological Science dirigido por Li Huang y Adam Galinsky, ambos de la Universidad Northwestern (EE.UU.), viene a confirmar esta idea.

Homework for English V students (J512)

Send to the teacher's email the audio files you recorded in class (the extended version where you talk about 2 different people) before Sunday, January 23rd, at 9:00 PM (if your have problems tell me)

Indentify the files with the name of the team members. If your recorder's storage capacity is low, send 2 or 3 files (Part 1, Part 2, etc)

When all the files are uploaded, you assignment is to comment the work of your classmates in the entry where all the audioplayers are.
